TUM and NEURA Robotics open RoboGym, where around 100 robots will train in 48 cells
The Technical University of Munich's robotics institute and the firm NEURA Robotics have launched the TUM RoboGym, a shared facility for training humanoid and service robots and researching embodied AI.
Why it matters: Researchers at TUM MIRMI and NEURA Robotics now share a facility in which roughly 100 robots will produce sizeable datasets for training.
TUM said its Munich Institute of Robotics and Machine Intelligence (TUM MIRMI) has launched the TUM RoboGym together with the company NEURA Robotics, as a site for training robots and studying embodied AI.
In the first phase, roughly 100 robots of humanoid and service types are to acquire particular abilities and workflows, spread across 48 training cells, the university said.
The university called the RoboGym one of Europe's leading facilities of this type and said the sizeable datasets it yields should make robots more dependable and safer.
