Why it matters: Students on Tec de Monterrey's Monterrey campus heard national figures discuss female leadership, political participation, public service and sport at a forum their federation organised.

Tec de Monterrey reported that the Foro Líderes de México (Leaders of Mexico Forum) was organised by the Monterrey campus branch of FETEC, the Tecnológico de Monterrey students' federation.

According to the university, the forum included panels on women's leadership, political participation, public service and sport, with speakers drawn from social, business, sports and political spheres.

The university said speakers highlighted preparation, perseverance and social commitment as keys to leadership, with the stated aim of inspiring new generations to change their surroundings.

At the women leaders' session, arts and culture promoter Liliana Melo de Sada told attendees that no woman gets ahead alone, the university reported.
