Why it matters: CNRS-L and the Université du Littoral Côte d'Opale now have a signed memorandum setting their existing cooperation on a formal footing.

CNRS-L, Lebanon's National Council for Scientific Research, said its Secretary-General, Dr Chadi Abdallah, received ULCO President Prof. Edmond Abi-Aad on 23 October 2026.

The two institutions signed a memorandum of understanding at that meeting, CNRS-L reported.

CNRS-L said the memorandum aims to give the two bodies' cooperation a formal basis and to deepen it.
