Maastricht University is seeking papers, practitioner talks and artistic research for its 2027 MACCH/PRICELESS conference, which will run alongside the closing days of the TEFAF art fair.
Why it matters: Researchers, practitioners and artistic researchers studying art, luxury goods and financial crime can offer contributions for the Maastricht conference on 18-19 March 2027.
Maastricht University has opened submissions of scholarly papers, practitioner presentations and artistic research for next year's MACCH/PRICELESS conference.
The two-day meeting will take place in Maastricht on 18 and 19 March 2027, overlapping with the last days of TEFAF, the European Fine Art Fair.
The organisers said the 2027 edition of the annual event will examine how artworks, luxury items and other unique, costly objects are valued and regulated, and their links to financial crime.
According to the organisers, criminals' interest in such objects has moved from theft and forgery towards using them as financial assets to disguise transactions, launder money, conceal wealth or get around sanctions.
