Why it matters: Students at the German Jordanian University were the target audience for the drug-prevention material and brochures distributed at the event.

The German Jordanian University (GJU) said it organised an awareness event with the Anti-Narcotics Department and the Community Police, attended by Vice President Prof. Dr. Ibrahem Altarawneh, faculty, administrative staff and students.

According to the university, the event featured an exhibition of awareness materials and items supplied by the Anti-Narcotics Department, and educational brochures on drug risks were handed out to students.

GJU said the event is part of continuing efforts to strengthen its cooperation with the Public Security Directorate and to expand awareness programmes aimed at young people.
