Why it matters: The high-school and undergraduate students behind the 12 selected films will represent the Mexico City campus in the festival's national phase.

Tec de Monterrey said 12 short films were selected in 2026 to represent its Mexico City campus at the Tec de Monterrey International Short Film Festival.

According to the university, the festival is held every year and gathers the most outstanding audiovisual productions by students of its School of Humanities and Education nationwide.

The university said the selected projects come from both its Preparatoria (high-school) and Profesional (undergraduate) levels and will represent the campus in the festival's national phase.

The university said the films deal with themes including gender-based violence, self-knowledge, human rights and problems of today's world.
