Why it matters: The University of Kufa's Faculty of Jurisprudence adds a thematic Quranic study on insight to its record of master's-level research.

The University of Kufa reported that a master's thesis at its Faculty of Jurisprudence examined al-Mustabsirun (those who attain insight) in relation to self-readiness and the insights of the Holy Quran, as a thematic study.

According to the university, the thesis was submitted by student Ahlam Hassan Kadhim.

The university said the thesis aims to ground the concept of istibsar (insight) in the Quran, explain its meanings and distinguish physical sight from rational and spiritual insight.

The university said the work also sets out how a person moves from inherited imitation towards awareness and knowledge based on evidence.
