Why it matters: International students taking part in AICECS 2026 at Universitas Airlangga are being introduced to Surabaya's local wisdom through a student-run programme.

According to Universitas Airlangga (UNAIR), the external relations divisions of the student executive boards (BEM) of its Faculty of Social and Political Sciences (FISIP) and Faculty of Humanities (FIB) are hosting international students through the Airlangga International Cultural Environmental Community Service (AICECS) 2026.

The university said the four-day programme was officially opened on Tuesday 27 October 2026 and is run in collaboration with Airlangga Global Engagement (AGE).

UNAIR described the programme as connecting Surabaya's local wisdom with global perspectives and as going beyond an ordinary cultural exchange.
