Why it matters: The four Tec Guadalajara students and two alumni behind Lenaia competed in the CodeLaunch 2026 Latin American final after selection from about 130 startups.

Tecnológico de Monterrey said a team from its Guadalajara campus, made up of four students and two EXATEC (the university's alumni), was chosen as one of six Latin American finalists in CodeLaunch 2026, a competition that promotes startup proposals.

According to the university, the team's startup Lenaia uses artificial intelligence to help small businesses organise information on sales, inventory, payroll and operations, among other functions.

The university said the project was selected from roughly 130 participating Latin American startups and competed in the regional final in October 2026 at the Conjunto Santander de Artes Escénicas in Guadalajara.

The team includes students from computer technology engineering, finance, and robotics and intelligent systems programmes, according to the university.
