IPB University students launch financial literacy programme for Bogor village health cadres
A supervised IPB University student team has begun a household finance education programme in Situ Leutik, Dramaga Village, aimed at Posyandu (village health post) cadres.
Why it matters: Posyandu cadres in Situ Leutik, Dramaga Village, are the first audience for the students' interactive modules, pocket guides and outreach materials.
IPB University reported that a student team supervised by Prof Lilik Noor Yuliati has launched a structured education programme called "Village Financial Literacy".
The programme is being run in Situ Leutik, Dramaga Village, Bogor Regency, with Posyandu (village health post) cadres as its main target group, and includes interactive modules, practical pocket guides and continuing outreach materials.
Student representative Annisaturradiah said the cadres were chosen because they act as opinion leaders in the village, and that building their financial capacity should spread knowledge more widely in the community.
According to her, the programme responds to rural families' economic vulnerability, including heavy reliance on costly informal loans, a lack of emergency savings and limited understanding of the risks of digital financial products.

Posyandu cadres in Situ Leutik are the programme's direct participants; if, as the student team expects, they pass on what they learn, households across the wider village community would also be reached through the modules and outreach materials.
