Universitas Airlangga students study how educational mismatch affects East Java earnings
Three economics and business students at Universitas Airlangga in Indonesia have produced research on how mismatches between education and jobs relate to workers' earnings in East Java.
Why it matters: The study concerns workers in East Java whose jobs and pay do not match their educational qualifications.
Three students from the Faculty of Economics and Business at Universitas Airlangga (UNAIR) made the mismatch between workers' education and their jobs the focus of their research, the university's news service reported.
Their work is titled "Determinants of Labor Earnings under Educational Mismatch for Human Capital Optimization in East Java".
According to the university's news service, holding a higher education qualification does not always guarantee that a person obtains work and income in line with that qualification.
