Why it matters: Unicamp's Faculty of Chemical Engineering researchers have produced a liquid dressing that the university reports could be used on both humans and animals.

According to Inova Unicamp, the university's innovation agency, researchers at Unicamp's Faculty of Chemical Engineering (FEQ) have developed a liquid dressing that can be put directly on an injured area.

Inova Unicamp reports that the dressing dries on the skin within up to 45 seconds and leaves a transparent film over the wound.

The agency says the technology has potential for use in both humans and animals.
