Why it matters: Staff and students on the University of Lagos's Economics, Chemical Engineering and Biomedical Engineering bachelor's courses are those whose programmes the assessors examined.

Over two days, 4 and 5 November 2026, the University of Lagos (UNILAG) received three groups of assessors from the National Universities Commission (NUC), the university reported.

The visiting panels were reviewing three of its bachelor's courses: Economics, Chemical Engineering and Biomedical Engineering.

On the Wednesday, the panels covering Economics and Chemical Engineering arrived at Senate House on the Akoka campus, the university said.

Professor Olufunlayo Bammeke, who heads the Academic Planning Unit, escorted these two panels to the Senate Chamber and presented them, according to UNILAG.
