Why it matters: Prospective law students weighing Surrey can choose from three named specialist pathways from their second year, alongside the core LLB subjects.

The University of Surrey published a feature on 28 October 2026 setting out five reasons for students to study at Surrey Law School.

The university said it ranks 70th in the world for law in the Times Higher Education World University Rankings 2026.

According to the feature, students can specialise from their second year in Law and Technology; Law, Environment and Sustainability; or Philosophy, Politics and Law, in addition to the core LLB subjects and optional modules.

The law school said students gain practical experience before graduating and develop skills for a range of legal and professional careers.
