Why it matters: NUS's public policy school and the MAS economic policy unit host Professor Chor for a seven-day term that closes on 11 November 2026.

NUS said it had joined with the Monetary Authority of Singapore (MAS) in naming Professor Davin Chor to the MAS Term Professorship in Economics and Finance for a seven-day spell beginning on 5 November 2026.

According to NUS, during that week he is based jointly at the university's Lee Kuan Yew School of Public Policy and at the authority's Economic Policy Group.

Professor Chor, who is Singaporean and earned his doctorate at Harvard, holds an endowed globalisation chair at Dartmouth's Tuck School of Business and is affiliated with the National Bureau of Economic Research.

The university said his recent studies look at how US-China tariffs have affected economies and politics and how US supply-chain trade has been redistributed, with one co-written paper discussed at the 2023 Jackson Hole symposium.
