Why it matters: MBA students and applicants at Maastricht University's School of Business and Economics now have a first-place result among 173 programmes in a sustainability-focused table.

Maastricht University reported that its School of Business and Economics came first globally in the 2026 edition of Corporate Knights' Better World MBA Ranking, which covered 173 programmes.

The university describes Corporate Knights as a B Corp based in Toronto that publishes the table every year, scoring schools with numerical indicators built from public and school-provided data open to independent checking.

For 2026, the assessment looked at two areas: how far sustainable development appears in compulsory MBA teaching, and what contribution graduates make once working in organisations.

The university credited the result to its students, alumni, faculty and wider staff at the school.
