IPB University and University of South Bohemia plan student exchanges and joint research
A delegation from IPB University's fisheries and marine sciences faculty visited the University of South Bohemia in the Czech Republic, where both sides set out plans for exchanges, joint research proposals and international grant bids.
Why it matters: IPB University's dean said the partnership opens a route for the university's students and researchers to learn directly from the University of South Bohemia in aquaculture.
IPB University said its Faculty of Fisheries and Marine Sciences (FPIK) recently made a working visit to the University of South Bohemia's Faculty of Fisheries and Protection of Waters in Vodňany and České Budějovice, following up a memorandum of understanding between the two institutions.
According to IPB University, the delegation was led by Dean Dr Beginer Subhan, and the Czech faculty's leaders and Rector Prof Pavel Kozák committed to building joint education and research programmes.
The two sides plan student and staff exchanges, joint research proposals, applications for international grants and joint scientific publications, IPB University reported.
Dr Subhan said the faculty wants the agreement put into practice quickly through exchanges, joint research and technology that benefits fish farmers in Indonesia.
