Tecnologico de Monterrey's Monterrey region has obtained Mexico's voluntary NMX 025 certification for workplace equality and non-discrimination, covering its main campus, two graduate schools and five PrepaTec high schools.
Why it matters: Staff at Campus Monterrey, the School of Government and Public Transformation, EGADE Business School and five PrepaTec schools work in units now certified under NMX 025.
Tecnologico de Monterrey reported that Campus Monterrey, its School of Government and Public Transformation, EGADE Business School and its five PrepaTec high schools in Monterrey obtained the NMX 025 certification, which also carried a Gold-level mention.
According to the university, NMX 025 is a voluntary Mexican standard that sets criteria for promoting workplace equality and preventing discrimination, and it was granted by the Secretariat of Labour and Social Welfare (STPS), Inmujeres and Conapred, the National Council to Prevent Discrimination.
The university said the certification makes it the only private university in the state of Nuevo León to hold this distinction.
Corina Galdámez, a strategic initiatives lead at the university, said the standard aims to transform an institution's organisational culture.
