Peru's Pronabec opens extraordinary call for 20 state-funded postgraduate scholarships abroad
Peru's national scholarship programme has launched an extraordinary 2026 round offering 17 master's and 3 doctoral scholarships at foreign universities, aimed at high-achieving professionals who lack the means to fund study abroad.
Why it matters: Peruvian professionals seeking postgraduate study abroad need a definitive acceptance letter from an eligible foreign institution to compete for the 20 places.
Peru's Ministry of Education said Pronabec, its national scholarship and educational credit programme, has launched the extraordinary 2026 call of the Beca Generación del Bicentenario (Bicentennial Generation Scholarship).
The ministry said the state-funded call offers 17 master's and 3 doctoral scholarships at foreign universities for high-achieving professionals without sufficient financial resources.
According to the ministry, applicants must have ranked at least in the top third of their previous studies, hold a definitive acceptance letter from an eligible foreign higher education institution and have at least two years of professional experience.
The ministry said doctoral applicants must show research experience through scientific publications or books, or hold a current rating in the Registro Nacional Científico, Tecnológico y de Innovación Tecnológica (National Scientific, Technological and Technological Innovation Register).
