Why it matters: Older people are the group whose early signs of cognitive decline the São Carlos research team aims to identify using virtual reality and AI.

The University of São Paulo (USP) reported that research at its Institute of Mathematical and Computer Sciences (ICMC), in São Carlos, brings together virtual reality and artificial intelligence.

According to the university, the research is designed to identify early indicators of cognitive decline in older people.
