UNLP president meets La Plata archbishop on hunger and the region's social problems
The president of Argentina's National University of La Plata met the Archbishop of La Plata to discuss the region's main social problems and stronger coordination between their institutions.
Why it matters: UNLP and the La Plata Archdiocese are the parties directly involved, with a stated aim of stronger coordination that also extends to community institutions.
The National University of La Plata (UNLP) said its president, Fernando Tauber, met the Archbishop of La Plata, Gustavo Carrara.
According to the university, the two discussed the main social problems facing the region and sought to strengthen coordination between UNLP, the Archdiocese and community institutions.
The university said several initiatives were addressed at the meeting and presented the talks as part of a push for a hunger-free region.

If the coordination UNLP described goes ahead, the university and the Archdiocese would work more closely with community institutions on the region's social problems, with hunger as the stated focus.
