Why it matters: Female students and women staff at the faculty were the intended audience for seminars promoting breast cancer awareness and regular medical check-ups.

The University of Kufa reported that its Faculty of Physical Education and Sports Sciences organised an extracurricular awareness activity to mark Pink October, held by the Women's Affairs Unit.

According to the university, the activity was carried out under the third national plan for women, peace and security for 2026, within its institutional reform, protection and prevention pillar and the recovery strand.

The university said the aim was to raise breast cancer awareness among female students and women staff and to stress the value of early detection and periodic medical examinations, delivered through educational seminars.
