Why it matters: Students at the University of Dar es Salaam taking special or supplementary examinations will now sit them within the university's regular academic almanac.

The University of Dar es Salaam (UDSM) said claims circulating on social media that it had abolished special and supplementary examinations were untrue.

According to UDSM, these examinations remain in place and will continue to be offered, but they will now be held within the university's regular academic almanac.

The university said the timing change is intended to improve academic efficiency and does not lower examination standards or change progression requirements.
