Why it matters: University of Bahrain students who switch majors can seek recognition for completed courses whose content matches courses in their new programme.

The University of Bahrain said it has upgraded its Course Equivalency Request service.

Under the service, students who switch from one major to another inside the university can ask for courses they have already completed successfully to count.

Credit is granted only where a completed course covers the same content as a course in the student's new major, the university said.

The university linked the upgrade to a government drive to raise the quality of public services and redesign how they are delivered.
