The Federal University of Santa Catarina (UFSC) said the Fortress of Santa Cruz de Anhatomirim, which it administers, will be temporarily closed to visits from 2 November 2026.
According to UFSC, the closure is due to works on the trapiche, the pier that gives access to the fortification.
