UCAS drops its application fee for eligible care leavers from the 2027 cycle

Why it matters: Eligible care leavers applying through UCAS in the 2027 cycle can do so without paying the application fee, once they complete the required steps.

UCAS published five tools and resources to help advisers support care-experienced students applying to higher education, ahead of Care Leavers Month in November.

According to UCAS, eligible care leavers can apply without paying its application fee from the 2027 application cycle, and advisers are asked to help students understand the steps needed to access the waiver.

The other resources listed are an adviser toolkit on supporting care-experienced students, the Outreach Connection Service linking students with universities, charities and employers, a scholarships search tool and online training.
