TÜBİTAK opens Türkiye–Spain Eureka R&D call; universities may join as service providers
A bilateral Eureka Network call for joint R&D by Turkish and Spanish firms opened on 21 October 2026. Universities and research institutes cannot apply directly but may take part as service providers.
Why it matters: Universities and research institutes cannot submit applications to this call themselves but may take part in funded projects as service providers.
TÜBİTAK, Türkiye's Scientific and Technological Research Council, said a Türkiye–Spain bilateral call under the Eureka Network opened on 21 October 2026 to support joint R&D projects by firms in the two countries.
According to TÜBİTAK, the call is open to all themes, with smart manufacturing and industrial digitalisation, energy and smart infrastructure, smart mobility, drones and logistics, and agri-food suggested as areas of particular interest.
TÜBİTAK said market-oriented projects with high commercialisation potential will be supported through its 1509 International Industrial R&D Projects programme, and that an incorporated company in Türkiye may apply directly together with at least one firm from Spain.
TÜBİTAK said universities and research institutes may not apply directly but can take part in projects as service providers, and that applications run in two stages, the first being an online Eureka form assessed by the national Eureka offices of the countries involved.

Universities and research institutes cannot be applicants under this call; if they take part, it will be as service providers in projects submitted by firms.
