Why it matters: Finance staff in Queen's faculties and shared service units move from unit-level arrangements into hubs within the new Integrated Finance Services team.

Queen's University said it is introducing a new structure in which finance support for faculties and shared service units will be delivered through coordinated hubs within a new Integrated Finance Services team.

According to the university, there will be two hubs for shared services, one each for the Faculty of Arts and Science and Queen's Health Sciences, and one shared hub for Engineering, Law, Education and Business.

The university said finance work had previously often been organised within individual departments and units, each handling its own staffing and coverage.

Queen's said that placing finance teams under shared leadership will let it coordinate existing staff capacity more effectively and sustain cost-effective finance support over the long term.
