Queen's University finishes Jemmett Wing revamp as Project Connect works run to 2027
Queen's University has completed accessibility renovations to Fleming Hall's Jemmett Wing. Its four-part Project Connect construction programme began in May 2026 and is due to finish by summer 2027.
Why it matters: Queen's units affected by capital works elsewhere on campus will use the renovated Jemmett Wing as temporary space for the next several years.
Queen's University said Project Connect combines four projects to tackle long-standing deferred maintenance, make steam services more reliable, update landscaping and improve access to key buildings.
According to the university, Project Connect construction started in May 2026 and is expected to be finished by summer 2027, with work including waterproofing at Jeffery Hall and Harrison-LeCaine Hall and accessibility upgrades to Watson Hall.
The university said renovations to the Jemmett Wing of Fleming Hall are complete, adding an accessible entrance, an elevator and universal washrooms on every floor and replacing parts of the ageing plumbing and electrical systems.
Queen's said the Jemmett Wing work brings the building into line with its Facility Accessibility Design Standards (QFADS), and that the building will house units affected by other capital improvements for several years.
