Padjadjaran University says it leads Indonesia in 2026 World's Top 2% Scientists list
Universitas Padjadjaran's rector honoured academics named in the World's Top 2% Scientists 2026 list and said the university would give more attention to researchers' facilities and support.
Why it matters: Researchers at Universitas Padjadjaran are the stated focus of the university's pledge to strengthen research facilities and support.
Universitas Padjadjaran (Unpad) rector Prof. Arief Sjamsulaksan Kartasasmita held an event on 19 October in the rectorate building on the Jatinangor campus to honour Unpad lecturers included in the World's Top 2% Scientists 2026 list, according to the university.
The university said Unpad placed first in Indonesia by the number of its scientists on the 2026 list.
The rector said recognition should go to the scientists who produce academic work rather than to university leaders, and expressed hope the ranking position would be kept in future years.
Unpad said it was committed to paying greater attention to researchers' needs, particularly the development of facilities and research support.
