Why it matters: KNUST staff, student leaders and up-and-coming leaders would receive leadership training paid for by a sponsor, not by them or the university, if the offer is taken up.

KNUST in Kumasi reported that it is considering working with Maxwell/EQUIP Leadership Ghana to build leadership capacity among its students and employees, after a team headed by the group's country director, Ambassador Bernard Quarm, visited Vice-Chancellor Professor Christian Agyare.

According to the university, Mr Quarm pitched widening the group's Beyond Success Transformation Leadership Program to cover staff, student leaders and up-and-coming leaders, with content on confidence, self-knowledge, ethics and hands-on skills.

He suggested mixing face-to-face and virtual sessions timed around the teaching year, funded through a sponsor so that neither KNUST nor participating students would pay.

Professor Agyare backed the idea, tying leadership growth to the university's stated goal of rising from excellence to eminence, KNUST said.
