Coneau finds Peruvian engineers' assessment centre conditions adequate in certification bid
Peru's university quality council has visited the Engineers' Association of Peru's assessment centre. The association is seeking authorisation to certify professional competences in food sanitary inspection, and no decision has yet been made.
Why it matters: The Engineers' Association of Peru's bid to certify food sanitary inspection competences now moves to a comprehensive evaluation, which will include these site findings.
According to Sineace, Peru's quality agency, Coneau made a technical visit to the assessment centre of the Engineers' Association of Peru (CIP); Coneau is the council for evaluating, accrediting and certifying the quality of university education and a deconcentrated body of Sineace's governing council.
Sineace said the visit forms part of the procedure to authorise the CIP to certify professional competences under the standard for carrying out food sanitary inspections.
Coneau specialists checked infrastructure, furniture, technology, connectivity, safety and accessibility, as well as administrative resources and the arrangements for managing and protecting assessment information and evidence.
Sineace reported that the CIP has adequate infrastructure, equipment, connectivity and security, and that the results will go into a comprehensive evaluation before any decision on authorisation.

For the Engineers' Association of Peru, the site check is one stage of the process. Whether it is authorised to certify food sanitary inspection competences will be decided only after Coneau completes its comprehensive evaluation.
